Open-Djokovic stops Moya to reach semi-finals
NEW YORK, Sept 6 - Youth won out over experience when Novak Djokovic of Serbia rolled over veteran Spaniard Carlos Moya 6-4 7-6 6-1 to advance to the semi-finals of the U.S. Open on Thursday.
In the crucial tiebreaker, the 20-year-old Djokovic survived a set-point to win 9-7 and take control of the quarter-final match.
The 31-year-old Moya was broken in the opening game of the final set and again in the fifth and seventh games against an inspired Djokovic.
In Saturday's semi-finals at the National Tennis Center, third-seeded Djokovic will face number 15 Spaniard David Ferrer , while world number one and three-times champion Roger Federer will battle fourth seed Russian Nikolay Davydenko .
