Andy Murray meets with the ATP to discuss comments about gambling in tennis
Andy Murray met with ATP officials Wednesday to discuss comments he made about gambling in tennis.
"I didn't tell them anything new," said Murray, who has reached the second round at the Madrid Masters. "They weren't really gathering information, they were just finding out exactly what happened, so I told them."
Last week, the 17th-ranked Murray said that corruption in tennis was common knowledge. He has twice backtracked on those comments, saying his words were taken out of context.
Murray said the ATP didn't indicate whether it would take any action against him.
"I don't know anything new," Murray said. "If I did it would have been a different story."
Several players have said recently that they have been approached by outsiders trying to influence a tennis match, and the ATP is investigating a match played in August because of suspicions about match-fixing.
